Flag:

The flag of China was officially adopted on October 1, 1949.

The red of the Chinese flag symbolizes the communist revolution, and it's also the traditional color of the people. The large gold star represents communism, while the four smaller stars represent the social classes of the people. In addition, the five stars together reflect the importance placed on the number five in Chinese thought and history.

Capital city: Beijing

Main city: Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang

Population:  1.3 billion, 20% of the earth's population.

Language: Chinese

Religion/s:  Taoism, Buddhism, Confuciousim.

Location:  China encompasses most of East Asia stretching approximately 5,026 kilometers across East Asia. The eastern side of China is boardered by the Yellow Sea, East China Sea and the South China Sea with the Formosa Strait separating it from Taiwan. Mongolia is to the central north and then Russia surrounds the other northern boarders.

Climate:  The climate in China varies greatly. The northern zone has hot summers and freezing winters. The central zone has a temperate continental climate with very hot summers and cold winters. The southern zone has a subtropical climate with very hot summers and mild winters.
